How To: Revision

Yet another new series for my blog. This time it’s a ‘How to’/tips/hacks sort of thing! Expect tips related to writing, health, beauty, fitness… everything you can think of! If you want tips and/or hacks on a topic in particular, let me know in the comments below! Just a small disclaimer, these tips are based on both my research and personal experience. If you disagree with any of these, you can add and remove your own choices 🙂

So take out your notepads, put the kettle on and get writing!

For most of the students out there, yet another exam season is approaching, and I thought I’d be a helping hand and share with you some tips for revising. If you want tips on my study routine, then CLICK HERE! Let’s get on with it!

Headstart

I found this quite good, and it’s what parents and teachers instill of students: get a headstart in your revision. You can benefit from practising on past papers, create a timetable to accommodate your study/personal/social life while also having your mandatory breaks. At the same time you will help minimise your pre-exam anxiety.

Get your blood going

Physical activity during exam period can play importance in increasing productivity. Go for a run, head to the gym or even go for a brisk walk so you can stay mentally fresh and prepared for the big day!

Find a spot

Find a revision spot that works for you. This will enable you to revise comfortably without any distractions. Be it your bedroom, local library or a random spot at your school. Remember: the less distractions, the better your studying experience!

Note it!

Place post-it notes around your home/room to help you with revision. It sounds silly, but sticking notes around you will help you remember things and keep them fresh in your mind.

Snack

It can be quite easy t fall into bad habits while studying for exams. I remember having a big bowl of popcorn every single day while I was studying. So if you’re going to snack on something, do it right! Eat healthy snacks like vegetables and fruit to keep your brain going longer through good nutrients!

Think positively

Being and thinking positively can go a long way in helping reduce stress and anxiety, and help with feeling relaxed on the day of your exams. Panicking over how you will be doing in the exams is unhealthy and will set your mind to everything but the actual exam itself and what you know about the subject.

  1. That tip about leaving post-it notes around the house is a good one! You would learn without even realizing it if you see the same notes all the time.. 🙂
